Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system
From 1st January 2012 the Sri Lanka government has replaced Visa on arrival facility with Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
Foreign travellers intending to visit Sri Lanka for a short period of time up to 30 days for tourism purposes can apply for ETA online.
Tourism purposes may include holyday, sightseeing, casual visit to meet relatives or/and friends. Holder of ETA should not engage in any form of employment, paid or unpaid, or any trade or business during the period of stay in Sri Lanka.
Diplomatic and Official passport holders are exempt from ETA processing fee, only when their applications are submitted through the state agencies such as Ministries, Statutory Bodies, Sri Lanka Overseas Missions etc.

To apply for Sri Lanka tourist visa online you must have:
1 A valid passport for at list 6 month from the date of entry
2 Complete online application form
3 Debit or credit card or PayPal account details to make online payment
